We started work on the Bird House Construction! We are trying to figure out how to use a small screwdriver to connect the wooden pieces together.

The Seecorns ( Acorn room and Seedling Room) have a new 3rd person! We are very excited to introduce you to Ms. Katie!! Today is her first day, so please introduce yourselves when you pick up your child at the end of the day.

The importance of sensory play cannot be understated. By encourage the use of all of the child's senses (sight, touch, hearing, taste, smell, motion and balance) through play, you can support cognitive growth, language development gross and fine motor skills and much more.
Rainy Day Wiggles
Acorns enjoyed the beautiful weather outside this morning. The birds ate all the birdseed over the weekend, so we filled the bird feeder and watched the birds. Then we played with the doll house, read books, played with dinosaurs, and drew with crayons. We also played with the tunnel, slide, swing, and lots of sand.
Despite the rainy weather this morning, Acorns enjoyed a Happy Friday of Capers, pizza, dance party, and flashlights! Every Friday we start off Capers by signing Happy Friday. Then everyone makes choices in the different open classrooms. Today during capers we continued to share our experimentation with colors and our study of birds with the other classrooms.
Today we headed over to the large playscape and explored with shovels, sand, wheel barrels and the labyrinth.....
A labyrinth is used for walking meditation. It is a single winding path from the outer edge in a circuitous way to the center. Labyrinths are used world-wide as a way to quiet the mind, clam the anxieties, recover balance in life, enhance creativity and encourage mediations. insight, self reflection and stress reduction.
