A Place for Butterflies

We have been reading A Place for Butterflies, and Mine-O-Saur (a book about sharing).  Although sharing is hard, we are trying to introduce the concept through literacy.  Then, when someone isn't sharing we can refer to the book.  As for A Place for Butterflies, we went for a walk to use the "Acorn Crosswalk" and ran into - A Place for Butterflies! Literally!!  Our train viewing spot was occupied, so we continue to walk to our hidden bridge.  We didn't see a train, but many cars drove under us and opened the garage door.  You may not think that it sound very exciting, but the Acorns LOVED IT!!

Kelly, Katie K and I would like to thank you for lunch, we greatly appreciate your generosity. We are grateful to have such amazing Families in the Acorn Room!!

Crosswalk

We were a few adults short for the the forest, so we went on a crosswalk tour. Along with the crosswalks, we wrote names this morning, and explored sensory materials. We discussed the storm quite a bit. We then talked about how to be safe in a storm.

Fun Friday

As you can see from the pictures.  The children enjoyed Fun Friday-  The Acorns are ALL POTTY TRAINED while awake-lol

I know, I know some of you may think this is an obvious age development expectation......  and you would be correct.  I am just going to say, that this is the first time in YEARS that we have been able to claim all ACORNS are in underwear and consistently go on the potty.   In the coming weeks, we will try to ask the Acorns how they would like to celebrate this rare accomplishment.

Other items on the to do list prior to schools end-

How might we transform our world for the better?  We may have to land on...... helping the world with oxygen.

Acorn Crosswalk

We took our crosswalk for a walk.  We headed to our train viewing area and put our crosswalk down.  We have used the crosswalk in a few places now, but a new space always poses new challenges.  The Acorns worked together to create a safe place to walk.

We ran out of time to allow the other group to "create a crosswalk".

We opened our doors and decided where to explore...

While walking around our end of the hallway, I saw a ton of wonderful opportunities for the children.
