Summer Birthday Celebration!

Since everything was still so wet, we decided to spend Thursday morning having a final small caper day with Seedling, Willow, and Sycamore. The Acorns were excited to spend time with their friends in other rooms. Later, we celebrated the remainder of our summer birthdays! We sang “Happy Birthday” to A, and then C, W, and E made their birthday rings. We will sing to them after nap, when their rings are dry!

We just want to say once more how much we have truly enjoyed getting to know you all. We are so grateful for the time we’ve gotten to spend with this amazing group of Acorns, helping them learn and grow. We are going to miss them lots, but we know they are going to go on to do great things! Thank you for sharing their light with us. ❤️

Wednesday Walks

We had a great morning here in the Acorn room. We knew that we had to take advantage of the sunshine, so we set off on a walk with the Seedlings. Before we left, we checked the rain gauge. There were two inches of rain in it. 

We first walked to the Forest.. we knew it would probably still be too muddy to go in, but we couldn't miss our last Forest Day of the year! So, we played on our favorite fallen trees and took one last group photo of the Seecorns. Next, we walked to the fire station. The firefighters were pulling out while we watched, so they flashed their lights and honked for us! Then we sat and had a snack before walking back to school. What a wonderful Wednesday!

Show and Tell Tuesday!

The Acorns were so excited for Show and Tell today! We sat in a circle on the carpet, and each friend got a chance to stand up and show their item to the rest of the class. Trucks were at the top of the list! Sadly, it was too muddy to play outside, but we explored choices in the room, such as skin tone playdough, rainbow cups at the light table, magnets, and rubber bands. We also did an indoor obstacle course to get our wiggles out! It was a great Tuesday.
Just a few reminders: Celebrate the Joy is this THURSDAY from 4:30-6:30! School will be closing at 4:30PM. We hope to see everyone there. It will be lots of fun!
Also, school will be closing at 11AM on Friday. We cannot believe this amazing year is already coming to an end! We are cherishing the rest of our time with our Acorn friends. ❤

Monday Fun!

Happy Monday! We had a great time this morning. First of all, we finally got to plant our popcorn! Each Acorn took a turn putting a kernel in the soil and covering it up, and C helped water them all. Everyone was really excited to complete the final step of our popcorn planting process. It was a beautiful day to be outside. After lunch, we celebrated A, who was our first summer birthday. We will be celebrating the remainder of the summer birthdays this week. :) Have a lovely evening!
