Small Caper Tuesday??

We capered today instead of Friday this week.  The Acorn room is still focusing on water.  Today the water was PINK.  The children continually fill and pour the containers inside the sensory table.  Some of them started to use the turkey basters to fill their containers.  The turkey baster not only fills the containers, but it also strengthens their little  hands that will eventually cut with scissors, write and draw, button/snap their coats/jackets.

We tried to have a conversation about How does nature inspires beauty?
Then we asked, what is nature?  J- said, you pick it up.  I asked, where do you pick it up?  J said - outside.

So, the plan is to go for a walk tomorrow, and talk about Nature.  We will keep you posted on our conversations revolving around Nature.

Caper Friday!!

Caper Friday
Capering is a time when we block off our hallway with a gate, then we open up ALL four classrooms in our wing, Acorn, Seedling, Willow and Sycamore. The children choose where they want to explore and what Language they want to study.  This year, the languages are Water, Sculpture, Photography, and Light and Shadow. We were surprised at the amount of acorns that left the acorn room to explore in the other rooms. Way to go Acorns!

FYI-  Drop off today was fantastic!!! Way to go parents!!!  The children calmed down quickly and engaged in play with others, it was the best day!

He spent the morning exploring the Language of Water.
After most of the water ended up on the floor...... he moved on to sand.  I bet you can guess what happened to the sand...
