Pajama Day!

Happy Friday Pajama Forest Day! All of our favorite things in one day! It was a great way to wrap up our week of winter fun. While in the forest, the Acorns helped to build a structure out of sticks. There was lots of talk of nature and how much everyone loves nature. E announced that she was the Queen of Nature! The Acorns have also been creating lots of space stations and rocket ships lately. We are really getting interested in outer space! 

We wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the extremely generous gifts and for your continued patience and kindness with us as we’ve figured out all of the new changes this year. We feel so lucky for the time we get to spend with your wonderful children each day, and we can’t wait to watch them continue to grow. Wishing you all a safe, warm, and relaxing winter break! Fun Thursaday

 While we did watch a movie today, there was plenty of other things going on..... for one Popcorn!!  We also went outside, got muddy and then spent some time cleaning shoes/boots.  

We cannot believe winter break is approaching! 

We are so grateful to be learning and growing alongside you children, and this is the time of year for reflection.... So, here are a few highlights.  The Acorns LOVE to be outdoors!! 

Warmer weather would be nice...... Look at that sunshine!! Look how much they have grown over the last few months?  We never really know what the children will all connect with, and what we will be studying. Bridges was quite a surprise, as it started during the first few weeks we spent together.  Although we have taken a 'pause' on bridges in the last few weeks, we have made some plans for when we are back together in January that we think will continue to peak their interest, their collaboration with one another, and we will ALL continue to grow and learn.

S'mores Day!

Happy Wednesday! Everyone was so excited for today's special treat and for the snowflakes that had fallen this morning. Before fire time, we took a chilllllly little stroll to stomp through the tiny bit of snow and went to see the biggest tree in the WG. The Acorns had an awesome brainstorm and decided to join hands to see if they could reach all the way around the tree that way. Even together, it was still just too big! 

Once we got back to school, we met up with Ms. Katie, our super cool resident Fire Starter, and began toasting marshmallows! The Acorns loved the S'mores. It was a wonderful day!

 We started the day off with a gift from a parent- we got a new book Crossing. It is a fabulous story about people helping animals cross busy highways in a safe way. So we spent the morning creating and designing ways to safely cross busy roads.

Happy Hot Cocoa Day!

Happy Monday! It is hard to believe we are already down to our last week before break. Today started with a bang with hot cocoa and some fort building. 

We took some materials out to the snail and set up a little tent, and hung some fabric from the tree. The Acorns are still experimenting with enclosure, and they had a blast exploring the tent and running though the fabric on the branches. Then the Acorns all hung out together in the snail for awhile, taking turns making noise and listening to the echo! 

Once we came in, we warmed up with some hot cocoa. Everyone got to choose whether they wanted their marshmallows and candy cane in their cocoa or on the side. We took some time to chill and sip our yummy drinks. It was a great start to the week!
