We danced, road on the train and went on a long walk. Some of us saw a shadow in a puddle! I love how they are making connections and using words they know to describe what they see....Other walking activities were..... counting the hearts on trees, we got to 10 hearts. Having F help friends on the walk and picking up small square pine cones.
You have to love a good forest day. It was the prefect weather, perfectly mushy mud puddle and critters galore. We found a bunny home, we found slugs, worms, rolly pollies a centipede and a snail.
What a wonderful walking Wednesday~~ The weather was fantastic and the children did a great job walking along Lockwood to examine the construction going on. We pointed out symbols on the building. AK- A triangle LB- Circles TR- Rectangles! AS counted the amount of circles on the building. A total of 7! They are all getting so big!! We then went to the WG Fire Station and saw 2 fire trucks and an ambulance. A Fire-Fighter crossed the street to talk to us about the drill that they were performing today and gave us all Fire-Fighter HATS!!! We truly are so lucky to have such a great community that is walkable. We see so many great things. The Sculpture park, the Fire Station , the trains and all the constructions!! It is great to be an Acorn.
While taking turns to potty, we voted on what to do next, go for a walk or play on the playscape. Amazingly enough there were 23 votes in a classroom of 13. So, we voted again making only one mark instead of several. The children made predictions on which had more, and which had less. Then we counted and wrote the number and decided which won. They playscape WON!!
We took the spools out for them to roll down the hill and we had the kitchen open. The children were busy digging in the dirt, making food, and enjoying the wonderful Spring Day.
