Happy Birthday Kelly

We would like to thank you for being responsive with the illnesses going on in Acorn Room. We realize the last few weeks have been difficult with all our illnesses in the Acorn Room.  Kelly and I do everything in our power to keep the children safe and healthy. We clean and sanitize every chance we get.  When we text you through Brightwheel about your child, we stick to the facts and we are truly only concerned with the health of your child. Again, thank you for being on the same page and keeping us all healthy and happy.

With the current theme of keeping everyone healthy..... today we took a long walk in the fresh air. Along the way the children pointed out hearts, stars, rectangles and circles. We discussed how those shapes made fences, and houses. Some of the shapes were for decoration.  We also noticed numbers on fences and rectangle walls.

Special Caper Day

Unfortunately we had to cancel Forest Day due to the weather. We decided to have an additional Caper Day this week and the Acorns enjoyed exploring other classrooms! In the Acorn Room we built with three dimensional shapes, created structures with float and loose parts, made shapes, poured and scooped, and wrote in journals.

Caper Day

 Caper Day is always a good day.  We had a Fire Drill in the middle of Caper Day- Once it was over we headed outside and the children started pretend play "Of Fire Truck".

OUTSIDE

 All and all it was a normal day with our normal routine. The children are spelling their names with scrabble letters, and we make the sound of the letters. They were building with their little selves (we took pictures of each child and put them on a block). We are hoping this exploration will encourage them to create bigger buildings with our shape blocks. The best thing about today..... was putting on our coats and getting FRESH AIR outside!!

Last Monday in January!!

                   Today we celebrated A for her 1/2 Birthday! She painted her A and we sang to her.  

 

 

 

 

Other happenings.... we rode the bike, created with rectangle blocks, made triangles in the magnet area rode a train and talked on the phone and took pictures. We are hopeful that we will make it outside this week and even go to the forest.
