The Acorns were very busy this morning, I think we explored everything the room has to offer and then we went outside to get some fresh air. We had a Mizzou Student come and observe our class. She is enthusiastic about teaching and learning! The Acorns were of course fascinated with her. We also started to create a winter break activity for you to do with your Acorn at home. We are busy making bird feeders. Once we are finished, we will send them home with instructions of what you are to do. We love bridging the exploration and learning we do here at school, with you at home. We feel the bird feeders are a good easy activity to complete over Winter Break!

Happy Friday
Happy Friday! After breakfast we started our day with Dance Party Friday. We love to Shake it Off with our family sticks! Then we prepared for our Friday Capers. We are exploring birds and nests this year so we decided to make nests with playdough. We continue to decorate our big cardboard nest. Today we cut yarn with scissors and glued the yarn to the outside of the nest. Luckily some older friends helped us with our decorating. Some friends said the yarn looks like worms and would attract birds to the nest. Others thought the yarn pieces looked like noodles. We also explored shadows with the overhead projector and a bird cage at the light table.
Check out the other blogs to see what we did in other classrooms.

Walking Wednesday

We then had a shape matching game out that the Acorns created earlier in the year and they matched all the shapes. We then went on a walk and the children pointed out shapes while we were on our walk. We are still working on concepts of a pattern and big and little....
