Forest Day

HELLO SUN!!!!!

CI- sang Mr. Sun, Sun Mr. Golden Sun, Please shine down on me......

 We are picking up every teeny tiny stick we can find.....

 Our goal at the forest was to see if our gift was still there......

 We found acorn caps for our Acorn Basket for Trivia Night.

 J-" I found a magic bean"

 "I a bear"

 Acorns sitting at the fishing hole....

 Hard at work building a camp fire.

 Here we are discussing where to put the new gift. We looked everywhere and could not find it. The children decided to put the gift in a secret spot.....

 They started looking for holes it would fit in....

They found a hole in a large stump, and dropped it in the stump.  I am sure that NO one will be able to retrieve the gift from inside the stump.

 G-pulled some grass so that she could feed the worms.

On a pathway....

Hogwarts Express

A friend brought in their map from when they went to universal studios and he shared with us his favorite spots. We talked about how we saw paths on the map and when he talked about the rides he went on we talked about how it sounded like the rides go on a path as well. We decided to check out videos of roller coaster rides. 

"We are on the Hogwarts express."

"I'm calling my mom and dad to go to the grocery store to get me a cookie."

 We also created pathways with tape.

"This path goes to the forest."

Feeding the worms

This morning the Acorns fed their worms some spinach leaves. 

"Here you go."

"They aren't eating yet."

We also did some work with beads and stringing them on straws. We talked about how when the beads are on the straw it kind of looks like a path. This lead us to creating our own beads with the clay. 

light table pathways

We put out some new materials on the light table and friends quickly started creating pathways with them. 

Friends also spent time creating in the block area and exploring oats in the sensory table.

 We also started our canvass for the trivia night which inspired some friends to continue painting with water colors.
