We started our daily routine, once we made it to the Acorn Room, everyone attempted to write their names, we sang a welcome song on the carpet, and started talking about agreements (rules). So, the agreements at the moment are: walking feet inside the classroom, keep your hands to yourself, listen to your friends and your teachers, and if you make a mess, you clean it up! We are definitely working on independence. We are asking them all to try to open their breakfast and lunch stuff before asking for help. We are also working on manners when asking for help. We realize, we are in the middle of a pandemic, but we are back at school, so we are working on those basic social skills. I am sure after a few reminders this week, next week will be nothing but please and thank yous.
Everyone is doing a great job wearing their masks and if they need a mask break, they each know where they can go and take a break ( their cot spots).
Once we made it outside, it started to drizzle, then it started to pour!!!! Needless to say we got a little wet. We then went inside and got on the ship and played a little hide and seek.
We are so lucky to have such a great group of Acorns!!
