Monday

We are back at routines and procedures. After 2 days off, we forget what the expectations are at school.  We start to remember rather quickly, which is wonderful.  As usual, we received morning acorns.  We love picking up and holding ACORNS!!

We then painted the snake again, and had a few different sensory items available. The playscape was still very wet, so we made believe we were on a train. We called each other on the phone and talked about what to have for snack.

Happy Friday

We continue to focus on routines and procedures. The importance of these routines help provide security, build independence and confidence, reduce anxiety and behaviors and support social emotional behavior. We will continue to focus on these for a few more weeks.

Then we explored loose parts-  this challenges the children to be creative.

We started off our Friday with our morning meeting, which includes reading a story. We are continuing with Snake Makes Shapes. Most of the children are helping us read the book.  They recognise the shape and shout out what shape is on the page. Well done Acorns.

Vote

Today after we read Snake Makes Shapes,  we voted on what color to paint a "snake head" so that we can create an interactive snake that makes shapes.  We will be painting rocks so that the children might move the snake into shapes. Earlier in the week, we made snakes from playdough and made shapes. We made circles,  hearts  and triangles.

The children voted between Red, Blue and Yellow.

Playscape Grand Opening

The Acorns found a shady spot to hang out and watch the Playscape Grand Opening!  We then danced with ribbons and headed back to our own space.

And last but not least- The Daily Acorn.
