Morning invitations outside!  We had crayons and paper. Dinosaurs near the slide and furniture and people near the hexagons.

We then moved inside to shapes at the projector, the latch box at the light table, our matching game and the sensory table. E and I made new colors by stacking the shapes. 

A few of us went on an adventure looking for binoculars,  we were lucky to find FOUR pairs!!  We then tried them out.  Surprise, Surprise they could not see anything.  We were holding them backwards, everything was blurry.  We will need practice.

Connections

 The Acorns are starting to make connections and see shapes everywhere!  Today we went on a walk to the forest to collect nature for loose part self portraits. While walking to the forest with bags in toe, the Acorns spotted shapes on the way to the forest!!

                                                                    T- "Look! It's a circle!"

                                                           B- "Cat! Cat! Look M it's a cat!"

                                     T- "I see two flags."  D2-" What shape are they?"  "RECTANGLES!!" 

                                                                 This house had it all!!! 

We love that all the counting we do everyday all day is making an impact on the Acorns.

Caper Friday!!

As we have told you before caper day is a time to explore other classrooms invitations/languages, take risk (by leaving acorn) and have fun.  Today was very exciting. Acorn is becoming more knowledgeable about shapes, and those shapes are showing up everywhere.  The other rooms may not be focusing on shapes, but we explored shapes in other rooms along with everything else they had to offer.
