Fores Thursday!!

The Acorns did a great job getting to the forest.  Our first few times to the forest, we practice routines.  We bring a blue blanket,  we sit on it a drink our water.  I then explain that when a teacher says Acorns blue blanket, they all run to the blanket.  So, today we played, called acorns to blue blanket.  Then we would all run to the blanket.  We practiced this three times.  They all did a great job!!  Way to listen Acorns.

We took a tour of the forest, we walked inside and ran into a Park Departments worker!  Apparently a tree had fallen and they were starting to remove it.  There was an excavator with a long rope that went into the forest.  We sat waaaayyyyy back, and watched.  The excavator moved backwards. We heard a loud crack.  Then that was it we had to head back to school to prepare for lunch.

Wonderful Wednesday

The Acorns are getting into the swing of things!!  We have been busy figuring out routines, procedures and learning everyone's names. We again had a few tears but trust me when I say YOU are ALL doing a great JOB!! We are thankful that you are coming in with your child and having quick drop offs. The quicker the drop off the quicker the tears end.

Today, we ate breakfast, used the potty/changed diapers, played outside for a little bit and then went for a walk! We made it around the block!!!!  We started practicing walking as a class early this week so that we could make to the Forest on Thursday.  We will put bug spray on the children after morning potty time, and we will take everyones water bottles in case we get thirsty. We will also have our eye on the heat index making sure we do not over do it in the heat.

Once we made it back to school, we set out a few invitations of loose parts, playdough, plus plus blocks, and dry erase markers.

This is Belle- She lives on the corner.  We say hi and wave to Belle when she is outside.  She is the nicest dog I have ever met, she runs up the hill so we can walk by safely.
