Self Help WEEK!!
We started off the week going over a few self help skills. They sat down, took off their own shoes and their own socks. They then put them in our new shoe basket! All of the children were able to remove their own shoes, a few needed help removing their socks. A few of the children were able to put on their own socks and shoes! Way to go ACORNS!
We danced and jumped around while we all had our socks and shoes off.
We then brought in the dress up clothes for them to put on by themselves. Most were successful in getting the clothes on and off.
We will continue to work on doing things for ourselves, putting on their own socks and shoes.
step one- put your thumbs in your socks.
step two- put your knee to your chin
step three- put your foot in your sock
Then put your other sock on.....

Small Capers
Our Acorns were busy during Capers today. They all spread out through the different classrooms and explored a bit in the Acorn room and out on our playscape.
Out on our playscape we had contact paper up on the wall and friends stuck leaves they collected to it. The sandbox was also open and some friends explored the new log we found yesterday.
In the Acorn room friends had the opportunity to use dry erase markers on our mirrors. They thought it was really silly and we heard lots of giggles.

In the willow room they had funnels and tubes open for friends to work on scooping and pouring. They also had colored noodles and string on their light table and a few friends made necklaces.
In the Sycamore room some friends did yoga.
In the Seedling room they had their sensory table open and the kitchen.

Walking Adventure
Today we went on a walking adventure. Ms. Meghan found this tree on the way to work. We decided to go visit the tree, and see if we could bring part of it back with us. Thank goodness Meghan had the forethought to bring a camera to document our adventure!
With the help of Ms. Katie, we got a large piece of the log on our wagan. We took turns helping to push the wagon because we had such a large heavy load.
Once the log found its way on our playscape, the children started to explore.
K-"It's a rock with bark"
G- "It's a log."
G- "It's a train."
M- " I want to get on the train."
N-"My head don't fit."
N- Told G. that it is a tractor, not a train.
When Meghan and I went to lunch, we drove a car back to the tree to see if we could load up a few more pieces for the playscape..... sadly it was ALL cleaned up and gone.

Today for walking Wednesday we walked over to see the train. Quickly a train came from the left side that seemed to be carrying coal. It was...
