Moon Sand

Today friends explored some moon sand. Many friends talked about how they were making cakes. One friend said, "It's a cake with sprinkles." Another friend said, "My cake is chocolate." 

"It feels like the sand from the beach."

 Friends also worked with small chalkboards.

 Friends also worked with soapy water. They were scooping and pouring and working with turkey basters squeezing.

 We hung some material from a hoop hanging from the ceiling over in the mirror corner of our room. Friends explored how it felt walking through the fabric and what it looked like sitting underneath.

"Our feet are matching."

Small Caper Friday

Small Capers is a time when the children get the freedom to explore all FOUR classrooms in our wing.  The 3-5 year old rooms, pick up all their choke hazards in preparation for the two's arrival.

Today we went to the Collaboratory formerly known as the Motor Room. We turned on the wind tunnels for friends to work with the scarves. One wind tunnel was pointing straight up at the ceiling so friends watched as some scarves in that tunnel wouldn't go all the way through like on the other tunnel. 

"It's stuck."

"It's coming at you."

Friends also worked on the pendulum. We talked about how this pendulum looks like the one in our room and how we need to build first to knock it down.

"We are taking turns."

"It not get it."

 Friends also worked on climbing up, over, under and through different block structures.

"I'm on top."

 

"Hey my back isn't too tall. I'm under here."

"I need a flying car, I can't make it."

 We heard there is an owl in the forest.

 We can't find it.

 Searching for the owl.
