Acorns walked to the forest and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Acorns explored the forest and found a tree they could climb on. They practiced taking turns and attempted to wait patiently. They ran on the path and found various sizes of sticks.
Ms. Connie came to help the Acorns go for a walk today.
We walked to visit the chickens to see if the children could make the connection chickens are also birds. We will be working on that concept for awhile.
We have made some noticings the last few weeks
the children find joy in transporting items
the children find joy in sensory activities
the children find joy dumping.
These are all Schemas that are developmentally appropriate for this age group.
Play schemas are repeated actions that children engage in during play. While there are many play schemas, the 'main' nine are: trajectory, rotation, enclosing, enveloping, transporting, connecting and disconnecting, positioning, orientation, and transforming.
As we waited for the drizzle to stop, we explored the Acorn Room this morning. Once the rain stopped we headed outside, we dried the slide and explored other toys. Once back inside, we stuck to our morning routines, and went over rules and agreements. Some of the children are getting the hang of it and are assisting others. Well done ACORNS!!
