Day Three

The tears are starting to subside. Dropping off outside is fantastic!  They explore the great outdoors and then we then head inside and have meeting time, sing our welcome song, read a book and discuss agreements (rules),  walking feet, listening ears and nice hands.  Occasionally Kelly and I act it out so they have a visual.....  We will eventually have them draw pictures of our agreements so that we can review them daily.

After exploring the classroom, we went for a walk around the sinkhole.  At least that was our intention.  We ended up going around the entire block and we are so happy we did.  Someone carved out a bear in the stump near the pergola. The Acorns loved the Bear!!

The Forest Bear.  We are wondering if the children will name the bear and if so what?  We will have to  visit again soon and see if this sparks any interest.  The first 6-8 weeks we are observing, documenting and helping the Acorns adjust to their new environment.
