We had the large magnets.
We scooped and poured bird seed with bug finders.
We are continuing to celebrate the Week of the Young Child. Today was Art Thursday. We collaborated with the rest of the school to complete an art project on the big playscape. Some easily maneuvered the spray bottles others needed assistance. All and all the art project is lovely.
Other happenings- We are continuing to work on math concepts- this week we have been focusing on patterns, measurements and classification skills...... Some of the photos this morning are of children trying to figure out who is taller, bigger, smaller or shorter. We have also been encouraging counting!! We count everywhere we GO! The children are now doing the counting..... It is amazing to see how far they have come, and how BIG they are getting! Well done Acorns!

Thank goodness for caper day, rainy day...
Today, Acorns celebrated Week of the Young Child with a Tasty Tuesday. Last week the Acorns voted on what snack they wanted. We brought out the voting results and reviewed the tally marks. The winner of the snack was fruit snacks, so Acorns enjoyed their fruit snacks this morning. They named the different colors of fruit snacks- yellow, purple, green, red, and blue. P. said, “The fruit snacks are squishy.” Then Acorns asked for more snack so they had a little Chex Mix and compared it to the fruit snacks. A.M. said that the Chex Mix is “crunchy.”
We started the morning off with shakers outside. We sang Wheels on the Bus and used the shakers while we sang. Once we came inside and had our meeting time, we then danced to our Friday Song with our wish ribbons. We love music of all kinds.
Tons of Fun!

As our community heads out to vote today, the Acorns voted for a tasty treat to celebrate Week of the Young Child which is next week. We have Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday and Family Friday.
As you can see from the pictures, the choices were generated by the children. The list was long, after some negotiations we narrowed it down to Chocolate Chips and Fruit Snacks. Fruit Snacks Won! We counted the tallies, we wrote the numbers down, and then compared which numbers were bigger and which were smaller. Then we discussed which tasty treat won.
This morning Acorns eagerly got to return to our Forest! We excitedly prepared for the walk and headed out with Mr. Kevin, (Katie K. joined us once her shift started). When we arrived at the Forest we noticed some changes. We explored the Forest with our new forest partners- the Seedlings.
