Today the children helped me read I Can Do It ! They are getting the hang of helping us read a story, which is important for their Early Literacy skills! Way to go Acorns!! We then had a shape matching game out that the Acorns created earlier in the year and they matched all the shapes. We then went on a walk and the children pointed out shapes while we were on our walk. We are still working on concepts of a pattern and big and little....

Bird Cage
The addition of the bird cage to the light table has sparked more interest than we had anticipated. The children found the door. They put everything that is on the light table. Into the "house" (bird cage). This is a schema- Enveloping/Enclosing, that they will perform over and over. Other Schema that is going on in the Acorn room, Trajectory, Positioning, and Transforming.
Other happenings- the Acorns are starting to help teach each other E helped the other E learn how to put on her socks.
yes I know, not a good picture.... but she is doing it.
A- started teaching me some yoga moves.
Then we headed outside before the rain.

Forest Monday!!
We checked the forecast for this weeks weather, and saw that it would be raining on Thursday. So, we took advantage of the dry day and headed to the forest. We added a bird cage and some new wooden trees to the light table where we have trees, birds and felt.
There were workers in the forest today, with a bucket truck and people trimming the trees.
