Well, needless to say, I was nervous about the storm today and not being able to get outside..... So, we spent the morning doing science observations, making predictions with an experiment, doing some yoga and working on habitats. I have to say..... I have never heard my name so much in one day. They were so excited about the experiment and their observations they just kept saying my name. Dee Dee Look! I drew a starfish, Dee Dee Look! I made a new color!! Dee Dee Look! Here is my habitat.

Birthdays & Books: Busy Wednesday!
Happy Windy Wednesday!
We had a full, fun day today. The morning started by celebrating C, who turned four today! He got to make his special birthday artwork and then share it with the class after we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Have a wonderful birthday, C!
Then we continued with Walking Wednesday. We tried for the zillionth time to catch a train in our train spot, but once again, we missed it by a couple minutes and watched from the sidewalk instead. We did get to snack on some Goldfish, though, so everyone was still happy. 😁
When we got back to school, we had another special surprise: H & H's mom was doing a read aloud on zoom of the awesome book she has written called "Alex and the Butterflies." It was a lovely way to wind down before getting ready for rest time. The Acorns loved hearing this story and H and H were so proud to see their mom on the screen! Thank you so much for sharing!
Have a great night!

A Special Surprise--Best Walk EVER!
Happy Tuesday!
Since the weather was so lovely again this morning, we decided to go for a walk. We had a plan to walk to the fire station and hopefully get a close look at the firetruck.
On the way, we stopped by all of our favorite window displays. Spring is in the air! The Acorns also practiced LOTS of counting this morning as we walked. E and H were trying to count all the way to 100! Wow!
When we got near the fire station, we could tell that it was going to be a worthwhile visit-- one, because there was also construction going on at the intersection, and who doesn't love construction?! And two, because we could see that the fire truck, fire chief's SUV, and the ambulance were alllll outside. The firefighters were working on their hoses and washing the truck. We sat to have a snack and see what would happen!
As we snacked and watched, something awesome happened: a real life firefighter came over to talk to us! And even better, he brought everyone HATS! He introduced himself as Firefighter Jim and we told him thank you for the wonderful surprise. Of course, the Acorns were just thrilled.
Once we got back to school, we went to play in our outside area-- unsurprisingly, everyone then decided they were firefighters. They got out their "hoses" and put out fires for the rest of the morning! What a great day.

Oh Happy Day
Everyone was so happy to be outside today!! The weather could not have been more perfect!! We started the day off, writing our names, the children heading to the Big K next year are also practicing their last names and lower case if they want. We then met on the carpet and discussed our weekends, and the we voted. Outside or Inside activities. We counted, tallied, added and subtracted. We analyzed that data like we are all Mathematicians.
Once outside, we started moving rocks, back to the rock river...... All the Acorns are soooooo strong! Each of them had to tell me all about how strong they are!
J and C making a security system for C's bed.M making pasta for me...
Big H creating skyscrapers and photographing them.
Digging in the new rocks.
Bridges....
Strong Acorns!!
Books we discussed today....
